The Bologna ReportWe've recieved some questionable information from Governor Manchin's office (1-888-438-2731 or 1-304-558-6000) recently. We were wondering what they were telling everyone else. Please tell us what you were told. We'll be adding it to the Governor's myths lists. The Governor told me...Robert Maguire locatehome at aol dot com I called the governor on December 13, 2007 Evasive Joe and his gang First I would like to say that I feel sorry for all the folks who get harmed by government officials that abuse their power. It appears to me that Gov. Joe and his gang have made an art of it. My family has tried for several years to reason with these thugs, but to no avail. Personally, they stole and damaged some of our private property. They use the tax payers own tax money to defend against the citizenry. I feel their concience doesn't bother them when they rip us off and rape the earth for their personal gain. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights appear to be nothing more than scraps of paper to them. I feel that jail would be a more appropriate place for these jackals. Additionally I recomend that you call the Department of Justice with your complaints. Anne Soloman I called the governor on Without a moral compass If I were only concerned about looks I would think the Bologna Report was Bologna too... unfortunately when a man stops caring about the welfare of innocent children, somehow he just isn't attractive anymore. Not in the least. Carte sure is easy on the eyes, too bad he lack the kind of moral fiber I find attrative. Tina Bobarina tinabob at charter dot net I called the governor on I went to the Governor's Office IN PERSON This Bologna Report is Bologna I was actually able to speak with Janet and Carte in person, and I have to tell you that Carte is the hottest being I have ever laid eyes on. Janet is not bad herself, actually her hair do ROCKS. Joshua I called the governor on 8/31/06 The governors lawyers are scrambling... I was disappointed to be instantly passed on to a woman named Janet in the Governor's General Counsel office who did not answer. So I left a voice mail with my name and number and telling her that Ed's message is spreading nationwide and that I wanted a call back to let me know what the Governor intends to do about it. Sarah I called the governor on Monday August 28 2006 11:40am The secretary answered the phone and I told her I was calling regarding Marsh Fork Elementary School and would like to speak to someone about my concerns. She put me on hold and forwarded me to someone named Nathaniel's voice mail. I left a lengthy message including information about the recently found asbestos in the school. I am awaiting his return phone call. bo webb bamsterman at charter dot net I called the governor on aug. 24, appx. 2pm got the run around Called the gov's office. Asked for the Gov. Got transferred to someone, don't know who, but she was not available, left a message. Decided to call Carte Goodwin to hopefully chat with him about SMCRA and WV law pertaining to coal operations within 300 feet of a school. Carte wasn't available so I left a message asking him to call me this morning. I hope he calls and I expect that he will. He has told me in the past to call anytime I felt the need, and he has signed a letter to me with the words "Your Friend". So I expect my friend Carte will return my call this morning. I'll report back later with the details of our conversation. Shawn I called the governor on Didn't tell me jack The Governors office didn't take my name, or number, and my little girl is starting at that school in this year... wonder why his office didn't want to get back in touch with me? Alice Williams aswfreedom at yahoo dot com I called the governor on August 21, 2006 @ 4:38 pm I called the governor The governor's switchboard told me she was taking the names and phone numbers of all callers and she would forward them to the governor's staff. We'll see! In the meantime, all thanks to Ed for drawing attention and for walking. He is being the change we need to see in the world. Gail I called the governor on E-mails I e-mailed a letter to Governor Manchin on August 8th and have not received a response. Today I e-mailed the same letter to Senator Byrd's office. Hazy Mountain Boys I called the governor on 8-17-06---- 1:40p.m. Manchin I think Joe don't want to talk to anyone about the issues. I think him and donnie boy are on the same page. Because I called him too. And he will not take any calls. Why won't they talk to the people of this school district. They Know that we know that their dirty little secret is out, for all to see. Keep up the fight. Your brothers..... what the okmijn at hotmail dot com I called the governor on 9.00am 34/7/89 what the to get stuffed Susan Orrell I called the governor on last week by the way I didn't get a reply to my email. Susan Orrell (North Carolina) sorrell1 at carolina dot rr dot com I called the governor on August 12 3:00 I got the receptionist, I guess. She gave me the same scripted response about there not having been any evidence that the school is in danger and that they are waiting for the EPA to check it out. I told her that it was basically a lame response and that he should do something, but thanked her for her time. I also sent him an email sometime last week telling him to step up and protect those citizens he is sworn to serve...that the rest of the country is becoming more aware of the situation...called again yesterday around 6:00 pm...a little late, and left a message. Hill Hosta I called the governor on Often Exiled to the landof automated recordings Well, it's my guess that the Governors office is tired of hearing from me, even if I am polite and always thank them for their time with regards to this issue. The last few times I've called I have been put through to voice mail once identifying myself. Strange, they haven't called me back yet. Don't guess I should hold my breath ;-) Austin's Mom rajhall at aol dot com I called the governor on Everyday Script Spoke to his office help. She scripted me a response claiming the Governor's undying concern but also said there was no evidence to prove chemical issues with the school or safety for the children. I politely told her that I understood she was told to read a script and that it was "just her job". I then told her that I have seen the school with my own eyes and without any scientific training it was hideously obvious the school and surrounding areas were in grave danger. She thanked me and asked for my number. On other days I ask how the airconditioning feels in the office while Ed is out walking in a heat wave for the basic rights of a child. Austin I love you Mom Hill Hosta I called the governor on August 10th, 4pm All Talk, No Action I was told that the Governor is concerned about the welfare of all of the children of West Virginia. I asked specifically about the kids at MFE. I was told the of course they were of the utmost concern. I asked if that meant he was busy making plans to build them a new, safe, coal dust free school in their own community (where I live). I was told that she was unaware of any plans to do so. I asked if he had any plan of action what so ever to address the safety hazards that face the student sna faculty of Marsh Fork Elementary on a daily basis during the school year. I was told that she was unaware of any plan of action but as soon as she knew of one she would let us know. Benji Burrell I called the governor on Aug 10th, 11:30am Left a Message I called the governors office today. Had to leave a message. I told them that if Marsh Fork Elem was located here in the mountains of North Carolina, the governor, responsible company, and the school board would have worked together long ago and moved the school. The would be STATE WIDE HEREOS! I ask him to pick up the slack and the right thing, because I know he can. bo webb bamsterman at charter dot net I called the governor on thursday, aug. 3 more of carte goodwin First, the Gov's. general coucil /carte Goodwin called me the after noon that Ed departed and asked that we be respectful of the Governor. I told him we would love top see the Governor step forward and lead the kids to a new school. We discussed the finding of Dr. Scott Simenton and Carte said that for all he knew the man didn't even exist. I find that really laughable being that Dr. Scott Simenton is the vice-chair on the State Environmental Quality Board. After our conversation Carte went on WV Public Radio and stated that the state had done testing at the school and according to the state school board everything was ok. The facts are simple. Bill Elswick of the state school board went to the school and took an air particulate count. (no analysis, no identification, no check for coal dust, no soil sample). Bottom line, a sham, balony. What are they afraid to find? Why not conduct a health study at the school and surrounding area? What is the Gov afraid of? The people will be heard and these kids will get a new school. The sooner the Gov demands a real investigation with real results by qualified scientist the better off he will be. It seems to me that Dr. Scott Simenton is a qualified scientist. After all he is the vice-chair of the Governor's Environmental Quality Board. Maybe someone can inform Carte Goodwin of that before he makes a bigger fool of himself. Matt Noerpel
mnoerpel at gmail dot com I called the governor on August 8, 2006 Converstaion with Carte Goodwin I called up the Governor's General Council, Carte Goodwin, today to speak with him about Dr. Simonton's report on coal dust in Marsh Fork Elementary School. Several things should be noted: 1) Mr. Goodwin referred to the tests done by Dr. Simonton as something along the lines of, "Someone from Marshal wiping down the walls." This was in fact a scientific study done by a very qualified Professional Engineer and PhD. 2) Mr. Goodwin said that they had done tests too. Technically they did tests. They did tests of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system. Everything works fine. The test didn't mention coal dust. 3) Mr. Goodwin told me that we have laws to keep children safe and that silos have to be at least 300 feet from a school. Yes, he actually said that. The existing silo and the pending silo are both within 300 feet of the school. There is a map in the permit that shows the silos with 300 foot radius circles around them. They go through the school.
