Our Supporters
Many organizations have come out with support for us. From Congress in 1977 to today's Challenge
West Virgnia Organization.
- Linda Martin, the Coordinator of Challenge West Virginia, a group dedicated to maintaining and
improving small community schools sent us a letter of support.
- Dr. Scott Simonton, the vice chair of the Governor's Envronmental Quality Board, did an
independent analysis of the coal dust at Marsh Fork Elementary School. Coal dust was preesent in
all seven samples he took.
- Congress in 1977 showed their support when they passed the Surface Mine
Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA). Part of this bill said no coal operations within 300
feet of the school.
- Shepherdstown, WV has passed an official proclamation
welcoming Ed Wiley to their town on September 4th.
